Are you ready for a career in the trades but unsure about which trade to choose?

Have you ever thought of working as a carpenter? Welder? Electrician? Plumber? Millwright? 

We get it – choosing the right trade can be a challenge.  

That’s why we’re excited to share that Women Building Futures is accepting applications for our FREE Journey to Trades program in Regina.   

This program is a good fit for students who are figuring out which trade suits them best. 

 

Journey to Trades: a free 12-week hands-on training program that will introduce you to a variety of in-demand trades to help you find your fit. You will receive introductory skills training to explore trades such as 

  • Carpentry 
  • Welding 
  • Electrical 
  • Plumbing 
  • Millwright  

 The WBF Journey to Trades program is designed to help you start your career in construction and maintenance. The program will help start your journey to becoming a pre-apprentice in your trade of choice and will start the process that leads you into apprenticeship all the way through to journeyperson, to earn even more. 

Journey to Trades is hands-on: Experience the thrill that comes with hands-on exposure to the tools of the trade! Our program is designed to give you a real-world feel for each trade, ensuring you make an informed decision about your future career. 

Journey to Trades gives you support: With in-person and virtual elements, you’ll be in a supportive environment where you can explore, ask questions and receive guidance from experienced professionals.

Admission Requirements

What you need to apply:  

  • Must be a resident of Saskatchewan
  • A class 5 driver’s licence (recommended)

Applicants will also need to finish a variety of steps as part of their application.
