Women Building Futures Hits Milestone with ConnectHER IMPACT Project

Women Building Futures is proud to celebrate a key milestone in our ongoing efforts to  help more women in Ontario achieve economic security.

As part of our strategic regional expansion, WBF joined the ConnectHER IMPACT Project, a national initiative led by Fanshawe Corporate Training Solutions (CTS), a division of Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. The project aims to create a national network to recruit, retain, and support women in Red Seal trades through mentorship and community-building, using Slack as a digital hub for connection.

Through this partnership, WBF committed to recruiting 100 women and gender-diverse individuals into the ConnectHER community—individuals interested in exploring or growing careers in the skilled trades. We’re proud to share that we reached that goal by February 2025, months ahead of the project’s close.

Each connection not only strengthens a growing community of women in trades but also unlocks funding that supports WBF’s growth and awareness efforts in Ontario. This investment helps us bring programs, resources, and mentorship opportunities to more women across the province.

WBF now has its own dedicated Slack channel within the platform, where we continue to engage with participants, share resources, and connect them to opportunities in their region.

We’re excited to see this community grow, and even more excited about what’s ahead.
