Women Building Futures Bring Trades Program to Saskatchewan
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Women Building Futures (WBF) is pleased to announce an exciting introductory construction trades program for women that will provide the hands-on skills required to begin a career in the mining industry. The BHP Trades Readiness program will provide women with safety certificates, hands-on skills in a variety of construction trades, along with best practices for working in construction.
An inclusive and diverse workforce promotes safety, productivity and wellbeing. The BHP Trades Readiness program will not only support increased diversity amongst the industry but will foster economic security for women in the community.
“Supporting women’s economic security has an incredible ripple effect for the community. When you uplift the potential of a woman, you uplift the potential of her children as well. We look forward to working with BHP to bring this great opportunity to the people of Saskatchewan” shares Carol Moen, President & CEO of Women Building Futures.
Applications are now open for cohorts starting in January 2023. The first cohort will be delivered in Saskatoon, SK. To apply, visit: bit.ly/BHPCohort
