As Women Building Futures (WBF) expands its impact in Ontario, the nonprofit has partnered with Dolce Media Group, the publisher of Dolce Magazine, to support Ontario women into resilient careers that improve their economic security.
With their core values of empowerment and community support, Dolce Media Group is committed to supporting women through networking, inspiration and practical assistance. A commitment of $43,500 in in-kind marketing contribution from Dolce Media Group will support Women Building Futures’ brand awareness efforts in the province. Dolce also raised $3,000 for WBF’s scholarship fund.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Michelle Zerillo-Sosa remarks, “As Editor-in-Chief of Dolce, I am deeply honoured and fulfilled to spearhead initiatives that celebrate and empower women. This partnership with Women Building Futures embodies our commitment to supporting women’s advancement and creating meaningful opportunities for them to thrive.”
Women remain under-represented in skilled trades, accounting for only 5.8% of apprenticeship registrations. Yet, there are well-paying career opportunities for women in the skilled trades. Women Building Futures surrounds women with the support they need to get into these resilient careers.
“Women’s economic security is at the core of our mission. There are life-changing opportunities for women in the skilled trades, and women need a support system to get started. We are grateful for this partnership with the Dolce Media Group, which will help us create more awareness of our mission and support our future Ontario students,” says Carol Moen, president and CEO of Women Building Futures.
Dolce Media Group hosted the Empowering Women luncheon in May, which celebrated women’s empowerment and fostered support among women in various sectors. Women Building Futures joined the celebration by sharing our work and plans in Ontario. Dolce raised $3,000 for WBF, an investment which will go to the WBF scholarship fund for Ontario women. This will support future students in the province by lifting their economic burden as they take our trades-readiness programs, allowing them to focus on their learning journey and futures
