Board of Directors
Our board of directors are responsible for the governance and oversight of Women Building Futures, using their extensive experience to support WBF’s mission.
Landa Richards
Chair
Landa is the Owner of Richards Consultancy Inc. in Calgary, AB. She has completed several professional designations (CPA, CMA, CIA, CMC, CRMA) with experience in internal controls, risk management, compliance, audit and operations management systems as well as a background in many industries including oil and gas, construction and government. Landa’s prior board experience was with the Norfolk Housing Authority in Calgary, AB. Landa became involved with WBF in December 2019.
Bob Masterson
Vice Chair
Bob Masterson joined the WBF board of directors in September 2022. Bob is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC). He is the chief spokesperson and lead lobbyist for Canada’s chemistry and plastics industry, the country’s third-largest manufacturing sector. Bob holds an engineering degree from Queen’s University and Master of Public Administration degree from Carleton University and is a Chartered Director through the McMaster DeGroote School of Business.
Lindsay Osmond
Director
Lindsay is a partner with Boyden who has 20 years of experience as an integrated strategic human resources business partner. She is a passionate diversity and inclusion change agent and employee champion collaborator. As a former Vice-President of Human Resources and Head of Human Resources for Canada in a large U.S. based organization, her vast experience in employee & labour relations management, employee attraction, development and retention make Lindsay a great asset to the WBF Board. She is also active in the community as a Business Mentor with Threshold Impact Venture Mentoring Services. Lindsay joined WBF in March 2019 and will say goodbye in September 2025.
Lina Cosentino
Director
Lina Cosentino (CPA, CMA, BA) is currently the Director of Human Resources at WCB Alberta. In prior management roles held, Lina has gained extensive experience in supply chain and facility management along with strategic and financial planning. Prior board experience includes being the Board Chair of the YWCA of Edmonton. Lina was also a member of the City of Edmonton’s Environmental Advisory Committee. Lina joined the WBF board in September 2022.
Randall Benson
Director
Randall is Indigenous (Cree, Iroquois Metis), born in Fort McMurray and raised in and out of the bush with a strong traditional upbringing. A master electrician and power engineering technologist, over the last 24 years, he and his company, Gridworks Energy, have been involved in countless solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, Indigenous community solar and training projects, electric vehicle infrastructure training and projects, as well as professional solar design and installation training programs throughout Canada. Recently, Randall has launched a brand-new company, Peyakoskan Energy Inc., a utilities retail company with a mission to bring service efficiency and a people-centric approach to selling electricity, natural gas and internet services across Alberta.
Darielle Corsaro
Director
Darielle (CPA, CGA, MBA) is the Vice-President of Finance & Shared Services for Williams Engineering Canada Inc. She has 20 years of experience as a finance and operations professional. In addition to being on the board for WBF, Darielle is also a board member for Scott Builders where she chairs the Governance Committee and sits on the Audit Committee. Darielle’s prior board experience was as the treasurer for the non-profit Northern Lights Theatre. Darielle joined WBF in January 2021.
Scott Brattly, BA., LL. B
Director
Scott Brattly joined the WBF board of directors in September 2022. A seasoned leader in human resources with over 30 years of experience, Scott has a wealth of knowledge and expertise derived from various diverse roles in companies based in both Canada and the United States. He is recognized as an accomplished, collaborative leader with a deep knowledge base in labour relations, talent management, employee engagement and diversity & inclusion.
Deleted: In his full-time role of Chief Human Resources Officer with Broadstreet, Scott is accountable for the execution and development of the human resource strategy, which directly supports the overall business plan and direction for the organization. He provides strategic leadership and guidance by articulating the human resources plans to the team.
Danita Haysom, MBA, CHRP
Director
Danita (MBA, CHRP) is the founder and president of Flip Learning, a learning and leadership development company. She brings 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles in industry and global management consulting. Throughout her career she has focused on the construction and mining sector, working with companies across North America. Known as an engaging facilitator, Danita always aims to build relationship-based solutions which integrate people, process and technology. A dedicated mentor and ally, Danita previously served as a Board Director with the Edmonton YWCA and as a member of the Advisory Board with Norquest’s 1000 Women, a Million Possibilities. Passionate about womens’ equity, she is committed to helping remove barriers for women.
Jennifer Kluthe
Director
Jennifer Kluthe is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and an experienced leader committed to creating inclusive, dynamic workplaces. Her deep understanding of industry challenges and her proactive approach to addressing barriers faced by women uniquely position her as an influential voice on the Women Building Future board. As the founder of OpenWork, Jennifer partners with businesses to drive strategic transformation and cultivate customer-centric organizations. Throughout her career, she has consistently supported and mentored women professionals, guiding them to achieve success in leadership roles across diverse industries, particularly in sectors that are predominantly male. Jennifer Kluthe’s dedication, extensive industry knowledge, and strategic acumen make her a valuable asset in driving Women Building Future’s mission to support women in achieving economic independence.
Kelly Cantwell
Director
Ms. Cantwell is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development. In addition to strategy and development responsibilities, she also leads Sustainability and Communications. Prior to joining TriSummit Utilities Inc in 2020, Ms. Cantwell was Vice President of Business Development with Emera including Director of Renewable Energy and Senior Director of Strategy and Planning. Prior to joining Emera in 1999, Ms. Cantwell worked for CentralPower Ltd, an electric utility in New Zealand and British Gas plc in Edinburgh, Scotland. During Ms. Cantwell’s 30 year career in the energy industry she has had the opportunity to build experience across the sector including government relations, regulatory affairs, renewable development, strategy, and business development. Ms. Cantwell has a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from St. Francis Xavier University and a Masters of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University.
Lorraine Royer
Director
Lorraine Royer is General Manager, Sustainability, Government & Indigenous Relations for Inter Pipeline Ltd. (IPL). In this role, Lorraine oversees IPL’s programs and activities that intersect with the people, communities, governments, and organizations where Inter Pipeline seeks to operate a sustainable business, and to develop new prospects for growth. Her team pursues opportunities to work with Indigenous communities and businesses and to further IPL’s role in economic reconciliation in Alberta, to partner with these and other stakeholders to build sustainable businesses, and to co-create great policy to attract investment to Alberta and Canada in support of prosperity for our communities. She joined Global from Enbridge Inc. where she managed corporate government relations and chaired an internal corporate Climate Change Task Force for the company. Lorraine has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta and two undergraduate degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Economics) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), both from the University of Saskatchewan.
Ryan Hastman
Director
Ryan has extensive experience in strategic planning, public policy, and organizational development. An Edmonton native, Ryan graduated from the University of Alberta in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, specializing in Finance and Marketing. Since 2023, he has served as the Corporate Director of Strategic Planning at Covenant Health. In 2024, Ryan was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council to a three-year term as a member of the Board of Governors for the University of Alberta, reaffirming his deep connection to his alma mater and his commitment to governance excellence. Ryan’s career includes significant contributions within the Government of Alberta, where he held various influential roles. He served as Director of the Policy Coordination in the Office of the Premier, and as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of Community and Social Services.
Tara Matheson
Director
Tara practices exclusively in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation. Tara has built her practice based on her direct approach with her clients and a focus on practical resolution. Tara has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta, the Workers Compensation Board, the Appeals Commission, and has ran various claims under the Alberta Human Rights Act, the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Canada Labour Code and the Employment Standards Code. My goal is ensuring that my clients not only receive strategic and assertive representation but also feel a genuine sense of trust and confidence in the process. Tara received her Bachelor of Commerce from St. Mary’s University in 2007 prior to receiving her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in 2011.
