Description

The Professional Class 3 Driver program is a free 6-week training program designed to help women prepare for and succeed in entry-level careers in the driver operating industry. Our goal is to help you find employment in this field. 

During the program, we provide you with the necessary safety awareness training, certifications, workplace culture preparation, and both theoretical and hands-on training. We will also help you with the Class 3 road test. 

After successfully completing the program, students receive employment assistance and job retention support to ensure a successful outcome for both the employer, the graduate, and Women Building Futures. 

With this program, students can start their careers as a Class 3 driver, operating equipment such as snowplows, wireline trucks and hydrovacs.

Admission Requirements

  • Full class 5 Alberta driver’s licence (no GDL) 
  • A clean 5 year commercial driver’s abstract with no infractions
  • Must be an Alberta resident

Applicants will also need to complete a variety of steps as part of their application.

Applicants at the final stage of the admissions process are responsible for covering the costs of the Government of Alberta Class 3 Knowledge test and a driver’s abstract. The admissions and enrolment advisor will let you know when this is required.

  • Tuition for this program is sponsored by the WBF industry sponsors.
  • Additional funding and awards may be available to support living expenses while in the program.

Employment Opportunities

Upon completion, graduates will be interviewed with WBF Employment Partners for potential employment as an entry level Driver & Operator.
